Great stay, but the hot water wasn't always reliable. Super friendly staff and the breakfast was top-notch, especially loved that full English!

The hot shower provided relief after a long day, and it was very welcome despite the initial lukewarm experience on the second morning.
The mattress in our Deluxe King Suite sagged in the middle, which affected our overall comfort during the stay.

What a braw wee spot! The food was pure fantastic, especially that beef and ale pie. Everyone was friendly, making me feel right at home. Just a wee downside, the upstairs TV didnae work, but that didnae spoil my time. I’ll be back for sure!

The haddock and poached eggs were fantastic.
Upon arrival, I encountered a less-than-pleasant atmosphere with a disgruntled staff member at the bar. The lack of curtains in the deluxe king suite made it difficult to sleep due to the passing floodlights and cars. When I reached out regarding a lost item, there was no follow-up or concern from the staff, which added to my dissatisfaction.

Charming Newbury vibes 🇿🇦❤️
The brekkie was a winner, best full English I’ve had! The staff, especially Nathan, were so friendly and welcoming, felt like chommies right away. Room 1 was spacious and spotless, comfy bed just perfect for a good night’s sleep after a long drive.
Only thing was a dusty air vent in the bathroom that could do with a good clean, but otherwise a lekker stay!

Families will love the cozy setup
I had a delightful stay, the food was incredible, esp. the breakfast – best full English I’ve had! Plus, we explored the charming village with all those thatched roof properties, a sight to behold.
It wasn’t exactly cheap. but worth it for a special occasion.

The Deluxe King Suite was spacious with a large double bed, flat-screen TV, and a kitchenette. The bathroom had a walk-in shower with free toiletries. Breakfast offered a good choice. Also enjoyed the comfortable sitting area and private entrance. Just a lovely vibe all around, definitely a relaxing spot.

Staying in this Deluxe King Suite offered luxurious comfort and a massive TV, making the room feel truly indulgent. While the bar's late hours on weekends resulted in disruptive noise from rowdy guests, the quality of the food redeemed the experience. Dinner featured excellent hand-cut steaks, and breakfast was equally delightful. Despite the noise disturbance, the staff remained friendly and attentive throughout our visit.

Just a decent option for a short-term stay in Newbury (Berkshire) with good value for cost. The food was fantastic, especially the breakfast with perfectly poached eggs that hit the spot after a long day. Make sure to bring an eye mask for the bright lights if you're sensitive to light while sleeping.
